I agree, “Paper Tiger” sounds very inspired by Melody Nelson. Not this song though.

Agreed. I love all of them pretty much. But this one I can listen to with a 12 pack and repeat it over and over and over and cry, laugh, etc with great memories. The structure of each song is amzing on top of the order they used for the track listing!

I think we see someone trying to live their regular life (work, home, etc) but everything has been “whited out,” erased of color and pleasure, by the sadness of the loss or breakup the song is about.
