MPEG Streamclip Screencast
29 Nov, 2009 | Posted by | under Screencasts
go.tagjag.com - twitter.com - Marques has sent in another excellent screencast for us to use. This one teaches you about the free MPEG Screencast, available from Squared 5. This software is available for both Mac OS X and Windows. MPEG Streamclip will allow you to watch videos in dozens of different formats, as well as allowing you to convert between them with professional-quality output. chris.pirillo.com - http

Why would you need flv format anyway? It sucks. And FormatFactory accepts it.

What do you use to record your screen
Datalyss | November 29th, 2009 at 2:25 pm #
If that’s the case, then it seems to me that conversion software like th is is useless.

One more thing, MPEG Streamclip no longer converts FLV to other usable home formats. They stopped that over a year ago. I use a Firefox add-on called “youtubemp”. it puts a blue link in the description box of every You Tube video and is always in MP4 format. I haven’t found anything as easily to use for other movie sites.

You can’t, it’s not physically possible
stmpoodle | November 29th, 2009 at 2:25 pm #
You can’t convert a low quality source video to a high quality video without noticing the blurry details. That’s one reason why so many folks try to make something the best quality up front before the edit process. Basic science of technology.

What I never understood is how to convert a low res video to a hi res video without it looking pixelated or blurry. For example, if I wanted to convert a 320×240 FLV to a high quality 720×576 AVI, MPG, or MKV, how can I do that while maintaining video smoothness?
