You can ground yourself or just release the static by touching a metal surface or a tv screen (did that in school and the metal cart hurt way more than the screen).

Thats not a stupid question at all.
You can either buy a Anti-static wrist bracelet or you can simply touch something metal ever now and then.
TBH, you really dont have to worry that much. Unless your constantly rubbing your feet against the carpet, you have nothing to worry about

you can buy a wrist strap from ebay or your local computer store for no more than £3 then you just put it on ur wrist and clip the other end to the ps3 and bobs your uncle

guys u might no this but before you change you hdd make sure u discharge all static electricity from your body it will screw up your ps3. jus tryin to help

Hey DLB now U can do one for the new (120GB “slim” ps3) lol! I used this tutorial to change my 60GB to a WD 320GB & just to think now (9-23-09) 360 is just now gonna release 250GB HDD ain’t that funny? I wonder what HDD is the biggest U can get now 4 the ps3.
