If you flash custom ROM’s you NEED TO WATCH THIS VIDEO!!!! So happy to be able to share this with everyone! This will basically make the life of the “flashing addict” SOOOO much easier! =D Things like partitioning your sd card has never been easier! =D Also, now you can make COMPLETE backups (apps, settings, recovery, EVERYTHING) of your favorite ROMs!!! So now you can return to them after trying out something new! No reason not to flash a new ROM now =) To flash the new recovery just put it …

The reason I did the video on SwitchROM is cuz Amon RA said he was gonna remove BART from his future releases… but he didn’t.
I prefer BART too though =)

Dont use switchrom it sucks. Use bart

I’m having a problem with my G1. The recovery console was working great until i did a wipe to prepare a flash for another rom, as soon as I rebooted the phone, all i get is the HTC logo whenever I turn my phone on, I tried a combination all kinds of buttons and I can’t get it to pass the logo or show a list, not even the T-Mobile G1 logo… am I screwed?

Can anyone PLEASE help me, after following the steps when going into recovey console, switchrom will not work?
example: after typing :
switchrom -s
it says ” unable to mount sdcard”….and a bunch of other stuff!

hay wazz up u dont need to do anything it shoulld have done it by its self but ff said it was having problems. what i did is go to xda and get it from their if u need the link i will send u it and it is a very nice them im using it to haha

hey man i tried to get that theme Darkstar 0.5.1 using CMupdater and it wuldnt work…. stayed at the g1 screen is there anything i have to do in order to obtain it sucessfully cuz it looks cool and thanks anyway

well nothing shows up. not a keyboard and then white dots slowly take over the screen. practically freezes. i could wait and see what happens if the white dots take over the whole screen but i dont think any benefits will come of it.

Great vid. Very handy and will be using it lots. Didn’t have any problems with it being plugged in though. Just lucky maybe

Hi EmoGamer. My English is poor, just want to make sure the 3 steps for switching rom. Are they: nandroid backup, wipe the G1, & wipe the SD partition.with repair the partition..? Thanks for answering ^~^

Oh I know! I was originally gonna make this video about BART but I spoke with Amon RA and he said he was gonna remove it completely from his recovery very soon and just keep SwitchROM soooooooo…

hey man, u should check out BART (Backup and Restore Tool) it works the same as switchrom and i think its a lot easier/faster to use. At the recovery console just hit Alt-x and once in console type “utility” and u can choose option 7 (Backup using BART). Once u do that just give the backup file a name and it’ll do its thing. And to restore it just use option 8 (Restore using BART). It will show u a list of all the ROMs u have backed up. It saves u time typing all the commands.
