Agreed. Start simple, progressive, great teacher all-round.
Really looks like you’re having fun with the guitar.

Some of the clearest, easiest to understand lessons on percussive acoustic on the internet. Hats off Sir! Thanks for the useful lessons I’m sure they’re going to help me get my head around learning.

This is awesome!! Great lesson. I’ve got a Simon & Patrick SP6 with B-Band, Do you suggest I add further pickups? I really want a nice percussive sound! Thanks

You have to slap those harmonics hard.

The harmonic at the 19th fret is slapped so your right hand 1st finger strikes the string over the metal of the fret. This creates the Harmonic node and also sets the string ringing - same as the slapped harmonic at the 12th, just at 19.

at 8:17 you talk about the harmonic at the 19th fret. how is it that you do that? is it more or less your finger just striking the string at the 19th? or did i totally miss that part. id really like to know. thank you

Cool… I’ve been kinda messing with this type of playing for years’ ever since I saw Michael Hedges back in the early 90s’ but I’ve been mostly an electric player in the Hendrix/Holdsworth mode with alotta 2 handed Stanley Jordan kinda stuff thrown in. I also sing and play all kinds of african drums and I recently bought an Alvarez AJ-60 jumbo after I re-discovered Dylan’ so I’m trying to find away to blend it all together. Dale’ you’re video’s help offer some insight in that direction. Thanks.
