Creating an RSS Feed With Feedburner

Before getting into the technical aspects of setting up your feed, we’ll first talk about what an RSS feed is. Depending on whom you ask, RSS stands for anything from “Rich Site Summary,” “Really Simple Syndication,” or a host of other names. These two acronyms are the best descriptions; as an RSS feed allows users to subscribe to content they like, that’s frequently updated; and through this subscription, they can conveniently be notified and review these updates through a singular expedient medium. Let’s say you have a favorite blog you like keep tabs on — such as IncreaseRSS.com, for example. All you need to do is click the RSS feed tool and click subscribe; chose your method for receiving notification of your feed and whenever new content is posted, you’ll be notified and able to review the content at your leisure. To review feeds, you use special application designed for specific classifications of feeds; text based feeds can be read using “news aggregators,” and podcasts can be accessed through “podcatchers.” There are literally thousands of these applications for users to chose from; some cost money, but others are completely free; and they can be used on your PC or mobile device.
