www.ted.com Legendary scientist David Deutsch puts theoretical physics on the back burner to discuss a more urgent matter the survival of our species. The first step toward solving global warming, he says, is to admit that we have a problem.TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world’s leading thinkers and doers are invited to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes — including speakers such as Jill Bolte Taylor, Sir Ken …

well, its a fact that we have no global warming.. there is only a pretty weak theory that there should be one.. but there isnt.. the data shows it.. have a look fro yourself.. we have the same temp. like in the 1970s, and its going down quite quickly. i used to think there was a global warming.. the facts however, changed my mind

Compost (organic waste of which there is plenty, but always in the wrong place) dug into the ground is the start, Use old plastcs to create moisture traps..It is worth a try.

    werdd yo thats smart…
but its hard to find plantlife (aside from cacti) that are capable of surviving deserts

and as you green it the old ecosystem would get destroyed and that means a lot of organisms are gonna have troubles

People are afraid to talk much about fixing the problem through manipulating the environment because they think this will mean people won’t bother as much to stop doing the things which are causing the problem in the first place. Instead they’ll keep on destroying the environment while saying, “Oh but look, we don’t need to worry because we’re doing x, y, and z.” (With x, y and z likely being overhyped solutions that won’t actually really work anyway and amount to just being corporate PR.)

the fact that our environment (Earth) supports our survival should, in itself, explain why we DONT live on Mars
the reason why a culture does not take root and multiply in an empty petri dish is because THERE IS NOT ENOUGH NUTRIENT TO SUPPORT THE CULTURES EVOLUTION.
    no nutrient = no cultures
Right David? stick to the physics… : )

    i joke, much respect :P

well, traveling btween dimensions will b difficult in two ways-first the travel itself,then-you ll have to”hit”the xsact moment in that “other “dim you want to go to.imagine you travel in a fast train and you have to jump into another fast train, moving paralell to yours, but -in the opposite direction, and you must hit one particular open window in one particular waggon of this train..
