not expecting carnage at the start???
it was a demolition derby!!!
poor old trulli, i want to see him do well for once…

Great to see Webber get on the podium, his move on Alonso was pretty epic. Sad to see Barichello come second though, i thought he really deserved the win this weekend and he was clearly in the box seat during the first part of the race.

Ross despite knowing that, has the cheek of coming out in a interview to say that Rubens didnt make the strategy work.
The sneak fat bastard, have already made up his mind as to who he wants to take the drivers championship.

The way they put it seems to the less discerning F1 fan that the onus to make a three stopper work is solely on the driver to deliver the lap times. What most people dont see is that Rubens was going purple in almost every sector after the first stop and set the fastest lap of the race to boot, but the gap he had to make with the number of laps he had to do it was pretty clear to anyone who cared to check that was just impossible to open a gap big enough to keep the first position.

When the pace is that close and you are in front the clever thing to do is to mirror your adversary strategy. At the very least you stay in the fight or stay at the front, especially when you are going longer than your team mate. On the second stint Rubens was never going to keep up with Jenson, since he had so much more fuel on board, so the calls for him to push were absolutely ridiculous.

I am sick and tired of Ross Brawn sneakily screwing Barrichello over. They think that the regular F1 fan doesn’t realize whats going on there. The strategies they put Rubens on are always bloody doing him in. I have seen that happening over and over again at Ferrari. Why on earth didnt they put Rubens on a two stopper?? He was ahead by a 1.5s by the first stop with 1 lap extra fuel in the car, all things kept the same he would keep his position in 1st.
soudobrazil | May 24th, 2009 at 9:36 am #
Bloody oath Brawn is giving Jensen the best strategy. Barrichello put on an act at the press confrence todat and opened ip to a brazilian reporter saying that both their strategeies were allways 3 stops. Then they changed they mind because of some bullshit excuse about not being able to overtake Roseberg or something … They played Rubinho like a fiddle , he got raped in broad day light . I think Ross Brawn just got too used to pushing Rubens around while at ferrari …

Yeah mate I felt sorry for Massa too. I am assuming this was an error with the equipment rather than a mistake from Ferrari … (Pep)
F1Podcast | May 24th, 2009 at 9:36 am #
Hmm Rubens was not very happy eh? Just read your comment on the main page, and I think a lot of people are thinking the same. Is Ross already shifting resources behind Jenson, giving him the best strategy? I suspect he is … (Pep)
F1Podcast | May 24th, 2009 at 9:36 am #
Yes! Very, very happy - glad that for once the strategy (and luck) was on his side. (Pep)

Thank you mate, my tips are definitely on the improve! (Pep)
soudobrazil | May 24th, 2009 at 9:36 am #
wishful thinking about Massa on P2 , what a shame he had to let 2 cars through on the last lap , now regarding Barrichello I want to leave a message about that on your main page ….. we brasilians are pissed with every right
traydamus | May 24th, 2009 at 9:36 am #
Since we’re on the grammar tip, it’s “spelled” not “spelt”
jimmydigital | May 24th, 2009 at 9:36 am #
hey, pretty good result for your countryman webber
barneylovesbeagle | May 24th, 2009 at 9:36 am #
Nice poster! we need F1 back in the USA! But not at Indy!
dkfone | May 24th, 2009 at 9:36 am #
Still can’t work out why Rubens did’nt go for 2 stops. The next few races will decide whether he supports Jensen or fights for championship. Felt sorry for Massa. Great vid guys.

Good tips Pep! There was a carnage at the start and a Brawn 1-2!.
F1Podcast | May 24th, 2009 at 9:36 am #
Thanks for that mate! Our Australian accents can sometimes get in the way of good pronunciation! LOL (Pep)

i think massa will be very racy into turn 1 and will be second by the end of the first lap i think massa and vettel win fight out the race win. 1st Massa 2nd Vettel 3rd Jenson
gir745 | May 24th, 2009 at 9:36 am #
Id love Barrichello to take his first win, but it looks unlikely. I think Massa will take third at the start but not the lead.
Vettel looks very good… hmmm
Vettel
Button
Massa

If Felipe gets a good start with the KERS and takes the first coner in the lead and being 3 laps heavier than the guys around him, he is looking strong…..
1. Jenson
2. Felipe
3. Sebastian
GoTheUnderdog99 | May 24th, 2009 at 9:36 am #
also, even though its spelt grands prix, the s is not pronounced. bet you didnt expect a pronounciation correction about the name of the race!
adamd230688 | May 24th, 2009 at 9:36 am #
massa is gonna take the lead with kers at the end of the first lap
GoTheUnderdog99 | May 24th, 2009 at 9:36 am #
first massa was 16th or something because of not going out for a second run, now kimi. i cant understand why ferrari can be so confident of their cars pace this year, probably their worst so far since either 2005 or 1996.
Massa
Button
Vettel
Massa is 2 or 3 laps heavier than the three in fornt of him. if he gan get a good start with the KERS, he will be in the box-seat for the win.
