I’m glad I ran into this video. I just started a myspace music page, and I got a bunch of friend adders and mass messaging softwares and went crazy with them. You’re right about building genuine relationships with people. I’ll give that a shot.

quick question: do you think it’s a good idea to link people to my soundclick page which has a bunch of beats on it? Because I don’t have a website as of yet. I’m hoping to make one from any earnings I get from my music. 1.

I agree. I myspace is just an online demo tape. I used to send mass message. It never worked. I only would get about 5 to 10 plays a day. But then I started actually talking to people and become “REAL” friends with people. I think Street Promotion is better than online. I also gave out free Mixtapes at open mics. I would always put my contact info on there. Now i get thousands of plays a day.
