An excellent introduction to the philosophy of marketing on the internet but only really suited to a long term strategy. Most people looking to earn a living online are, rightly or wrongly, seduced by the idea of instant money. Until now, the only viable option was PPC, but the learning curve can be expensive. A traditional method of wealth creation that has worked off-line for centuries, but now updated for the internet age, is a far better no-cost and instant option …

Ric, Your insight is an often oververlooked “secret” to success. 9 out of 10 salespeople don’t understand that to succeed you sell nothing. You build relationships and solve problems. That was my reply when asked how I created $4 million profit in one year after joining a company that lost $600k a year for 3 years straight. Excellent information.

So true. It seems that when most people moved their businesses to the internet, they forgot the “Golden Rules” of business relationships, and how to keep customers. The voice of reason again shines thru!

Right on Ric. Reminds me of the small retail place I had for a few years about 20 years ago. Treat them well and word of mouth built my business for me.

That’s the way marketing should be–good for both the seller and the buyer!
