that is actually a very good point. Probably cos he had a 10 foot hose attached which could of hit sutil (or fissi i dunno). But Massa did nothing wrong the whole race apart from spinning into the barrier (splashing out water then making sutil crasg lol) and a couple of minor mistakes like going to fast through the corners. Ferrari have messed up AGAIN. Expext to see jobs available soon as a Ferrari Pit Mechanic cos if i was one, i would be shittin myself everytime they had to stop! HAMILTON!!!!

Cheers, re: Renault model in the background. I just bought him last week - Alonso’s R25 in 1:12 scale. It’s a nice little model … well actually it’s an R/C car made by Newray. (Pep)

Mclaren have figured out how to hack Ferrari’s pit light system…..!!!

please bring the lollipop guy back!

alonso demonstrates how good he is… and if renault had 30 more HP, they’d be contesting for the championship….. hope the FIA can solve this engine freeze unfair playing-field

Fantastic race and so far a fantastic championship! I thought 2007 was an amazing year in terms of racing and now we have 2008 being just as good. 15 rounds and 7 different race winners! WOW! I have to only think back to 2002 and 2004 when I’m trying to fall asleep and now I and many others just can’t get enough of F1. Night racing is fantastic and personally I hope they rebuild Eastern Creek with lights and finally get F1 in Sydney. I also think it’s about time for Heikki to up his game right?

Massi was so unlucky today, being a Lewis fan i was desperate for something to happen as it didnt look like Hamilton would catch him.
I was jumping for joy when that hose got stuck! lol, now all lewis has to do is finish second in the last 3 races and he’s done it.

being scottish, I was hoping DC got a podium. shame

btw, how come massa got a drive through penalty today for causing danger in the pit when all he got in Valencia was a £10,000 fine? what was the difference?
    GO LEWIS!

I agree. At first I didn’t see a problem with the Ferrari lights. I mean a human controls the lollipop and a human controls the lights, so what is the difference? But now I see that the lollipop has PERSONALITY!!! Sometimes it’s confident, sometimes tentative. Or it’s twisted around, or like recently it’s pushed into the helmet of the driver!

The lights have no personality, too black or white if you know what I mean. I love tecnhnology but these lights are costing valuable points! (Pep)

Ha Ha, I thought that too! Flav pushed the button * on Nelson’s car. - Pep.

( * Max and I used to joke in the late 90’s that Ron Dennis had a button on pitwall which he used to compromise or retire DC’s race car in order to benefit his then current flame - Mika Hakkinen.)

McLaren didn’t have the fastest car in Turkey..

And you still haven’t answered my question.

I had a feeling you would make this point haha(your second point). What you dont realize is that in terms of who set the fastest lap hamilton will have set the faster(fastest lap) on maybe 11 occasions this year compared to kovalainen.Kovalainen will set a faster lap 2 times this year than hamilton. When kovalainen set a faster lap than hamilton it will have been where mclaren have had the fastest car like turkey etc.

That’s exactly my point. Because he can’t get his tires up to temp within the first several laps, he doesn’t use them up as quickly. It doesn’t mean he’s the fastest man in F1, he’s just got excellent race pace.

It’s the same with Heidfeld, he’s had two fastest laps this year, but do you think he’s faster than Kubica?

I guess noone saw this result coming then. =) That’s what makes F1 so interesting. Ya never know! Alonso, very impressive! The right car and the right track and he’s unbeatable. Be it, this time, with a bit of luck (for Renault). What a race!

…..start but just doesnt seem to have grip for some reason. He doesnt decide to cruise about at the start and save his tyres lol.He is trying his hardest to gain positions and get into as quick a race rythm as possible it just seems that Kimi in his ferrari takes time to build grip and confidence. When his car is up to temperature and he has full grip and confidence he is the quickest man on track.

The gap started at about 9 seconds then he got very close to hamilton who was 4.5 seconds of massa before the safety car came out.He was(Kimi) about 0.3 to 0.5 secs quicker than massa. The reason he was slow at the start were he was about a second a lap for 7 laps bar the first one(which was even more) is due to warm up issues which explain why he hasnt been doing well in qualifying. When his tyres and car brakes etc are heated up he was easily the fastest man as usual. He trys his best at the…..

  22. moguetricky  |  April 25th, 2009 at 7:12 am #

Yup, and tell me, what was the gap before he started reeling him (Massa) in? Exactly.

Kimi just drives his races differently from Massa and Hamilton. He saves his tires until he is lower on fuel, while Massa tends to lap faster and consitently during a whole stint.

  23. dougd1  |  April 25th, 2009 at 7:12 am #

That added onto his 2 wins so far and he has had the speed to win atleast 9 races this year!

  24. dougd1  |  April 25th, 2009 at 7:12 am #

Moguetricky he was closing down massa so he was faster once again and that was probably with a heavier fuel load.Almost every time traffic was out of his way this season he is invariably the fastest man outhere like today putting in a string of fastest laps.He has had the pace to win the BRITISH(ferrari gave him the wrong tyres),FRENCH(Broken exhaust cost him)TURKISH(got stuck behind kubica, damaged front wing aswell)CANADIAN(lewis crashing into him)HUNGARIAN(poor qualifying)BELGIANandSINGAPORE.

Fastest lap doesn’t make you the fastest man. He only gets fastest laps when he’s low on fuel, and when his tires are still good.
