Want to Break Ankles?!? — Chase’s Crossover Dribble Blog — How to Shoot a Basketball

24 May, 2009  |  Posted by nancyperez  |  under Blogging

Have you ever wondered how to cross your defender over so hard that you break his ankles? www.shotscience.com This week Chase discusses how to properly execute a crossover dribble, which if executed correctly is nearly indefensible. Just so you know, there are many more ball handling videos coming and, of course, tons more videos on all things basketball!! We look forward to all of your comments! Thanks so much for all the support! We’d love to get a video response from one of you! See you …

We’ll definitely have one in the future that deals specifically with the jump shot. In the mean time, you should definitely watch all of our videos on shooting and try to put them all together. Then watch Chase’s shooting (we recommend checking out the Update video because it has some nice slow motion shooting) in some of our videos. Also, record a video of your shooting (from several angles) and send it to us as a video response and we’ll see if we can help you out. Okay?!

danny: Several things here are really important. If you notice, first Chase’s dribble is low (at knees) and very quick, and secondly, he dribbles the ball hard. We call it pounding the ball so that it is very quick back to the hand. Please note that he uses the mis-direction step and dribble which gets the defender going in that direction and then goes opposite. Try it. Good luck.

But it really quite difficult to cross a smaller persons. Before I could dribble and switch my hands, they can steal my ball.
